New Catholic tribunal formed
by OrphanCrow inthis happened in the month prior to the jws giving testimony for the royal commission - the article was published june 10, 2015. it is interesting to note that this catholic tribunal is for addressing those priests who cover up child abuse.
pope francis makes catholic bishops who cover up for paedophile priests accountable for first time with new tribunal system.
pope francis has taken a major step towards stamping out paedophilia in the catholic church, approving a new system of tribunals designed to make bishops accountable for the priests under them.the new and unprecedented vatican legal mechanism will hear the cases against bishops accused of covering up paedophile priests who abuse children on their watch.the church has previously faced criticism for failing to hold those in higher positions accountable for what goes on in their bishoprics.the vatican said pope francis was presented with the tribunal proposals by cardinal sean omalley, who he appointed as head of a new sex abuse advisory commission in december 2013.francis and his cardinal advisers approved the plans and allocated funding for full-time personnel to staff the new office.the vatican spokesman, rev federico lombardi, said this means there is now a specific process by which the vatican can deal with bishops who are negligent in handling cases of abuse in their territories.canon law already does provide sanctions for bishops who are negligent in their duties, but the vatican has never been known to mete out punishment for a bishop who covered up for an abuser.previously, the closest francis had come was in april, when he accepted the resignation of a us bishop found to have failed to report a suspected child abuser.

What are the chances of a public apology by the GB in print and on J W T V for the mishandling of abuse cases, and piss poor procedures? I'll answer that, almost nil. -

Advice on Waiting for Jehovah
by Anon_SA1 inhi guys, .
in discussions with a current jw, they told me that have big concerns with regards to the 607 bce date, but they are waiting on jehovah for refining.
any suggestions on questions to pose to them based on their feedback?.

Waiting on big J is a thought stopping response, it is used to ease cognitive dissonance and prevent further discussion of uncomfortable facts. Cults use thought stopping a lot.

No, the article is not the proof, the scientific study it talks about is. if you'd bothered to read it you would have worked that part out. Like i said, unless you see it with your own eyes you wont believe it.
I take it from that level of scepticism that you no longer believe in god / the bible either. If you do then you are not being true to your core world view as it doesnt allow for it.

Unless you went to the moon and saw the reflectors with your own eyes I doubt you would accept any other evidence.
There is plenty of other testable evidence they are there though. seek and ye shall find etc etc, if you can be arsed that is.
Here's one for starters:

Can You Really Become Inactive Instead of DA'ing and Keep Your Family
by truth-or-consequences inoz branch coordinator terrence o'brien opined a number of times at about 1:00:00 until about 1:15:00 of his testimony, that a dub does not need to da, they can become "inactive.".
i sent our beloved angus stewart my personal experience, as well as observations about official borg teachings.
(he replied in short order.).

I am 5 years out in my fade and yes i have my family, but all my JW "friends" dropped me. BUT, here's the but, if i do anything not approved by watchtower even now i can be disfellowshipped still and then lose my family.
So fading is slow and leads to a kind of limbo with fear of disfellowshipping always over the shoulder.

Do video games cause bad behaviour in children?
by The Rebel inmy boy is 10 and has got very interested in pocamon cards.
( a game way to complicated for me to understand) but i've also noticed it's linked to a computer game, which seems harmless enough but i also noticed advertisements for more violent games appear.. i would value people's opinion on whether, you think video games cause bad behaviour in kids.
i should mention my kid says i limit his time on these games, much more than other children's parents, and i was thinking of reevaluating that rule.. thanks.. the rebel..

It depends, is the answer.
Games have ratings much like films. He's 10, so would you let him watch adult rated films? I hope not at least until he's mid teens. Same goes for games.
The quantity of time on the other hand needs moderating.
Obviously this will change with his age.
Edit to add: yes if you control and repress to much, they will rebel later probably more than if you are balanced when they are young.

A stone about 5mm across would send the rider flying onto their face, let alone lowered kerbs, drain covers etc etc.
The wheels need to be a lot bigger. Otherwise you'd spend your unhappy time on it looking at the ground immediately in front for tiny thnigs that will try and kill you, instead of looking ahead.
